Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Year, everybody. Here is a little page to help you navigate the website. This website is constructed on an 800 by 600 screen resolution. You may wish to reset your screen resolution if you use 640 by 480, but I have tried to make it reasonably compatible.

I have also added some pages and changed the names of others, to make it more intuitive. What used to be HISTORY is now STORIES, because that what it is. HISTORY will contain OCTA and NW OCTA history, just like we all thought the category should have all along. I have also added LIVING HISTORY and PRESERVATION to report on activities in those areas.

Each of these main pages has a complete text menu box at the bottom. The OCTA Website and Chapters are not mine, so they do not have a complete menu box. If you leave this site you just need to use your browser's back button to get back here.

Most of these pages also have sub-pages. The subpages havea smaller text menu box which will navigate you within the category, take you back to the category page, or take you home.

I have tried to establish a consistent look to all the pages with the barked log banner and hanging signs. I also have established some other conventions as follows:

  • BLUE, UNDERLINED TEXT denotes a link to another page. It may be clicked with the mouse to take you to a new page. When the new page is visited the link color changes to another color, but the underlining remains the same. I will not use blue or underlined text for anything else, so you can depend on it being a link.
  • BLUE, UNDERLINED NAMES are always e-mail links. Clicking on them will take to you to your mail program. If you need more information contact the webmaster Tom Laidlaw. You may have to use your browser's back button to return.
  • HANGING DATE SIGNS  in the Activities and Trailmarking pages. These signs are also links to the particular years activities. I hope that this is intuitive, but again, I have provided text links to do the same job.
  • OFF SITE LINKS -- Some of these links will take you off of our site and out of our control. You may have to use your browser's back button to back out and back to the NW OCTA Website
  • WHERE DOES THIS LINK TAKE ME? -- A message shows up in the bottom left of most screens: Follow Link....linkname. If you keep watching for little changes on your screen, you will notice this. Some browsers may put the message in a different place.
  • SITE MAP  -- Will take you to another section of this page, which has a complete breakdown of the website. It is not interactive at this time.
