Tom Laidlaw takes on the persona of William Cannon, an early pioneer who came across the country with the Overland Astorians in 1811. He tells his own life story, stories of the Mountain Men, stories of the Oregon Trail and the forming of Oregon's provisional government.

Susan Butruille has acheived fame as an author and speaker. In the course of her research she found Marie Pantalon, who wore pants to dig for gold, although it was illegal. Intrigued by the character, Susan now recreates this colorful lady in a popular Living History sketch.
Jim Tompkins has contributed much to NW OCTA and to Northwest History Education in general. The website leads to pages about his several books, stories, and tours. Especially useful is the Guide to Laurel Hill and the Barlow Road.
