Living History Sign

Many of our members tell the Oregon Trail Story through reenactments and first person characterizations. Gail Carbiener portrays a Hudson's Bay trapper at the High Desert Museum south of Bend, Oregon. Muriel Carbiener portrays a woman on the trail at the same museum. Tom Laidlaw portrays William Cannon, who came with Wilson Price Hunt in 1812 and stayed to found a government in 1843. Jim Tompkins portrays a  Mountain Man. Others are members of historical societies which present living history presentations and reenactments. Susan Butruille portrays characters from her books. And, of course, there is the nationally famous Joyce Badgley Hunsaker who has delighted us so often with her portrayal of her grandmother, and has recently developed the character of Sacajawea. And I'll bet there are others lurking out there who could be added to this page. Let me hear about them please.
